The Interviews section has been updated

FYI – Over the past 5 years I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing some of my favorite power pop artists from Taylor Locke (Rooney) to Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (Jellyfish). Although I’ve still got to go in and fix some formatting issues, all the content is accessible. I often wonder about a few bands with dead link pages (like The Swedes) and if they still exist. In any case, enjoy our “improved” interviews section.

The Power Popaholic Interview: Andrew Gold

As reported last week, musician Andrew Gold passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011 in his home in Encino, Calif. Thanks to a contribution by Robert Pally, I can present this interview with Andrew posthumously. It was done after release of The Fraternal Order of The All, read the interview here or visit our Artist interviews section.

On  a lighter note, Google has a cute “guitar” tribute in honor of Les Paul’s 96th Birthday. Play and record on this neat-o widget!

The Power Popaholic Interview: Bowling For Soup

Bowling For Soup are a punky power pop band with staying power. The group gained national fame for the Grammy nominated single “Girl All the Bad Guys Want” and “1985.” Their latest album “Fishin’ For Woos” recently was released and lead singer/guitarist Jaret Reddick told us how Linus of Hollywood helped the band out on a special tune. The Power Popaholic Interview: Richard X. Heyman

It’s been over 4 years since I last interviewed Richard X. Heyman, so I felt with his new release “Tiers and Other Stories,” it would be helpful to dig into his story here. This was an informative and relaxed conversation about Richard’s experiences on making the album and his brief experience as drummer for The Left Banke (during the 1980’s at an aborted attempt at a reunion).
